Reservation and Cancellation Policies

  1. Reservations may be made by persons age 21 or over. A valid credit card number is required to secure the reservation. Invalid credit cards or declined cards could result in cancellation of your reservation. Please check expiration date on your credit card when making your reservation. 
  2. Payment and methods of payment include Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and U.S. dollars cash.
  3. Minimum Stay – during holidays and high season a minimum of 2-night stay is required on weekends. 
  4. Deposits - We reserve the right to charge the first night of the reservation on the card in advance of arrival. 

    A non-refundable deposit of 50% is required for reservations of 5 or more nights during high season or for group blocks where one individual/organization is booking the block of rooms. For blocks where guests will use their own account/credit card, a credit card number from the person making the group reservation will be required but will not be billed unless a guest does not honor the cancellation policies as per below.

  5. Cancellation policies
    • High Season = 72 hours (3 days) in advance for reservations of less than 5 nights 
    • Low Season = 48 hours (2 days) in advance for reservations of less than 5 nights
    • Low/High Season = 1 week in advance for reservations of 5 nights or more
    • Low/High Season = 1 month in advance for group reservations (blocked rooms)
    • Early departure does not constitute a refund for unused nights.

  6. Failure to cancel within the above time-frame or “No Shows” (failure to notify of cancellation and/or does not show up for use of room) will result in the credit card on file being charged for one or more nights of the reservation, depending on the time of notification. 

General Policies 

  1. Belfast Breeze Inn provides a smoke-free environment – no smoking is allowed on the premises (including inside/outside the Inn/Lodge rooms). A $150 cleaning fee will be assessed for smoking inside the room.
  2. Loss/Damages will be billed to the client should they occur. If your room required excessive cleaning, we will assess a cleaning fee of $25 to $50.
  3. Missing or broken items from the room will be charged at checkout or at the time the room is cleaned.
  4. Liability – your safety is of prime concern to us. Remember that you are responsible for your actions and those of your children while on the premises.
  5. Pets – We are now accepting pets and registered service animals such as seeing-eye dogs for the visually impaired in rooms 6, 7, 8, and 9 in the Lodge building. Please let us know at the time of reservation if you are bringing a service animal or a pet dog (maximum of 2) so we can assign the room accordingly. The pet fee is $25/night. Pets will received a welcome bag to use during the stay which includes a blanket to sleep on, a water bowl to drink from, and treats.  PLEASE SEE OUR PET CONTRACT.

    No animal may be left unattended in the room (crating is not a substitution for your presence with your pet). If the animal is a service animal, it will be with you at all times. Guests who “sneak” pets in their room during their stay will be charged a non-refundable get fee of $50/night.  (And yes, we know people do this!) We reserve the right to contact animal control when pets are left unattended or guests do not comply with policies.

    Travelers with pets may also elect to stay at our sister property Bay Leaf Cottages & Bistro ( in nearby Lincolnville. There we offer motel rooms and cottages that are pet friendly. Bay Leaf Cottages & Bistro has been awarded the Best Pet Friendly Hotel in Maine! Pets staying there receive a welcome Doggy Bag with a blanket to sleep on, a water bowl to drink from, and treats! 207-505-0458.
