Herbal Syrups for Shake and Stir Cocktails

Discover ways to preserve your bounty of herbs that will have your happy hours at home seem like you were transported to a fancy cocktail party.  Spice up your routine while adding healthful benefits of herbs preserved until the last drop.  Use the syrups to glaze roasts and chicken or imagine a splash of basil syrup to your marinara sauce to bring out the sweetness of those summer tomatoes.  The possibilities are endless!

Cranberry Sauce and Chutneys for the Holidays

In this seasonally appropriate workshop, we will use some different ways to spice up the traditional accompaniments to holiday dishes, that of which Thanksgiving would not be the same without and some you can’t believe you’ve lived without for this long!  Canning these delights will be demonstrated so that you can use your take home items as side dishes, or holiday gifts.

Making a pie crust from scratch will never again be a daunting task after you complete this workshop.  Using fresh and frozen Maine ingredients, we will make mini pies to taste and take home that will delight the senses and inspire your holiday feasts.

Fall Farmers Market & Savory Vegetables

As any gardener or farmers market shopper knows, the fall in Maine comes with an overabundance of tomatoes, squash, gourds and the like.  Make a smoked paprika and tomato jam, soups that will satisfy and freeze well for those cold winters’ nights, and other savory snacks made by dehydration to continue the harvest well into the later months.
